Date: August 7, 2026Format: In person 73

The Institute for Reducing the Shadow Economy, Improving Tax and Customs Administration, and Fiscal Analysis held a seminar and training session dedicated to assessing the export potential of regions and identifying promising export opportunities.

The event was organized as part of the implementation of tasks set at the meeting held on 5 August 2026 under the leadership of O.A. Hakimov, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The seminar and training brought together senior officials and specialists from research institutions and relevant government agencies.

During the seminar and training, the capabilities of Tina Trade and Harvard University's “Atlas of Economic Complexity” platforms were used to explore the following areas:

🔹 assessing the export potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

🔹 analyzing the export opportunities of 208 districts across the country;

🔹 identifying promising export opportunities for the regions;

🔹 developing export-oriented production in the districts.

The seminar and training provided participants with an opportunity to learn practical approaches to conducting a more in-depth assessment of the economic and export potential of regions using modern analytical platforms, as well as identifying competitive products and promising export opportunities.

These approaches will contribute to the effective utilization of the regions' existing economic potential, the diversification of export markets and export composition, and the development of evidence-based proposals for expanding export-oriented production.
