Uzbekistan in Slovakia: exchange of experience on public finance reform

Representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Institute for Reducing the Share of the Shadow Economy, Improving Tax and Customs Administration, and Fiscal Analysis under the Ministry are participating in a training visit to the Slovak Republic on the topic "Conducting an Effective Cost Review and Program Budgeting."

This visit was organized within the framework of the "Public Finance for Development in Uzbekistan" initiative, implemented with the support of the UNDP and the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic. The main goal of the event is to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of representatives from Uzbekistan in cost review, investment project evaluation, tax impact analysis, program budgeting, and gender-sensitive budgeting.

During the study visit, the experience of Slovakia in the system of public finance management, program budgeting practice, evaluation of investment projects, analysis of the effectiveness of public spending based on the "Value for Money" approach, and assessment of the impact of tax policy are being studied.
