On June 18-19 of this year, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the UN Development Program, organized a two-day training program on the topic "Harmonization of public finance in Uzbekistan with the Sustainable Development Goals and green development priorities."
During the event, issues of harmonizing public spending with socio-economic and environmental priorities, as well as integrating the Sustainable Development Goals, the climate agenda, and gender issues into fiscal policy, were discussed.
The training program was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, representatives of the Institute for Reducing the Share of the Shadow Economy, Improving Tax and Customs Administration, and Fiscal Analysis, as well as employees of other ministries, departments, and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. Within the framework of the program, the institute's specialists exchanged experience on modern approaches to public finance management and the harmonization of sustainable development goals with fiscal policy.
The event was organized as part of the "Public Finance for Development in Uzbekistan" project, implemented by the UNDP and the Ministry of Economy and Finance with the support of the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic. This initiative serves to increase the efficiency of public finance management, strengthen institutional capacity, and achieve the goals of the "Uzbekistan - 2030" Strategy.
