The Institute for Fiscal Studies and the Customs Institute sign a memorandum of cooperation

The cooperation envisages joint research on customs administration, foreign trade and the shadow economy. Particular attention will be paid to assessing the effectiveness of customs incentives, examining discrepancies in foreign trade statistics, and developing methods to estimate unrecorded imports and associated budget revenue losses.
The research will also explore opportunities to track the movement of imported goods in the domestic market and assess the impact of customs procedures and digital services on business costs.
The memorandum also provides for exchanges of experience among specialists and researchers, joint training sessions and seminars, and the implementation of research projects.
