Institute for Fiscal Analysis participated in an international public finance conference in Washington
Abbosbek Juraev, Director of the Institute for Fiscal Analysis under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, participated in the 8th International Public Finance Conference, held in Washington, D.C., on 24–25 September 2026 and jointly organised by the World Bank, ODI Global and the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS).
During the session titled “AI on the Fiscal Frontier,” Uzbekistan’s experience in public financial management, the effective analysis of budget revenues and expenditures, the pension system, and the application of artificial intelligence in tax and customs administration was presented.
The participants also discussed an initiative to develop a unified Data Lake analytical platform aimed at supporting data-driven decision-making in fiscal and macroeconomic policy.
As part of the visit, agreements were reached on future cooperation with the World Bank, DaTax, TaxDev and the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) in conducting joint research, applying advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in fiscal analysis, exchanging experience, and strengthening the Institute’s research and analytical capacity.
