New Economy, Artificial Intelligence and Innovation-Driven Development Discussed in Bukhara
On 31 July, a series of meetings and events aimed at advancing the economic and technological potential of the Bukhara region were held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Institute for Fiscal Analysis, as well as Samer Chidiac, an international strategic adviser on artificial intelligence and innovation.
As a designated “think tank” for the Bukhara region, the Institute for Fiscal Analysis provides research and analytical support for the region’s socio-economic development.
As part of the visit, discussions with the regional leadership focused on transforming Bukhara’s existing potential into new economic value through innovation, modern technologies and human capital development, while enhancing the transparency of economic processes and strengthening fiscal sustainability.
The delegation also visited Buxoro Agroklaster and familiarised itself with its activities. The participants exchanged views on the integrated development of agriculture and production within a unified system, the wider adoption of modern technological solutions, improved accountability and opportunities to create higher added value.
During the visit, artificial intelligence projects developed by advisers to the regional governor and startup representatives were presented. The participants explored opportunities for applying these solutions to economic analysis, fiscal monitoring and management processes. The international expert assessed the practical relevance of the projects and provided recommendations for their further development.
The seminar focused on the potential of artificial intelligence, professions of the future, emerging labour market trends, competencies required by modern professionals, new business models, and ways to strengthen cooperation between government, academia and business. Scientific and innovation projects currently being implemented at the university were also presented, along with the capabilities of “Kutubxona BSTU,” an electronic library powered by artificial intelligence technologies.
The events provided an important platform for dialogue on developing the economic and innovation potential of the Bukhara region in line with future needs, transforming promising ideas into practical solutions, and creating new economic opportunities.
