On August 7 of this year, the Ministry of Economy and Finance hosted a practical training seminar on the proper preparation, publication, and monitoring of data related to the Openness Index and budget transparency.

The seminar was attended by employees of the Ministry’s structural units responsible for compiling, verifying, submitting, and publishing open data on information resources, as well as representatives of the Anti-Corruption Agency, the National Statistics Committee, and the Uzkomnazorat Inspectorate.

The event was opened by Jalol Qurbonov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance for Compliance and Internal Anti-Corruption Control. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of ensuring transparency and accountability in the activities of government bodies, as well as the timely and high-quality publication of information of public interest.

During the seminar, a representative of the Anti-Corruption Agency presented the methodology for assessing the Openness Index and reviewed the Ministry’s rating results. A representative of the National Statistics Committee also explained the requirements for compiling open data and submitting it to the Open Data Portal.

A representative of the Uzkomnazorat Inspectorate addressed the publication of information on official websites and its digital monitoring. Experts from the Institute for Fiscal Studies reviewed legislative requirements concerning budget transparency, information subject to mandatory disclosure, and common errors and shortcomings encountered when publishing data.

The participants received practical recommendations on ensuring the completeness, reliability, and relevance of open data, updating it within the prescribed timeframes, promptly addressing identified shortcomings, and effectively coordinating the activities of responsible employees.

At the conclusion of the event, priority tasks were identified to further enhance transparency across the Ministry’s system and improve the quality of budget-related information made available to the public.
