Discussion Held on the Proposed Amendments to the Tax Code

A roundtable discussion on the draft amendments and additions to the Tax Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Institute for Reducing the Shadow Economy, Improving Tax and Customs Administration, and Fiscal Analysis.

The event brought together the Institute's management, representatives of the Chamber of Tax Consultants, the Chamber of Auditors, private tax consultants, and experts in the field.

During the roundtable, participants comprehensively discussed the proposed amendments to the Tax Code. They exchanged views on the potential impact of these changes on the efficiency of tax administration, the tax burden on businesses, law enforcement practices, and State Budget revenues. Participants also reviewed proposals aimed at improving the current tax legislation, ensuring greater clarity and consistency of legal provisions, and creating a more transparent and taxpayer-friendly environment.

At the conclusion of the event, the participants agreed to systematize the proposals and comments received, conduct additional legal and economic assessments, and take well-founded recommendations into account during the further refinement of the draft Tax Code.
